Your Word for This Day: “Trust for Today…and the Day After”

Friday, June 9, 2017

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34

This day is a gift to you from your heavenly Father. He has given you a full 24 hours filled with great potential and endless possibilities and He desires that you live it to the full, bringing glory to His name!

Don’t waste a minute of this great day worrying, stressing or being anxious, especially about what will happen tomorrow. Sometimes our minds are so far in “what will happen down the road”  that we are not fully living in today, and today needs our full attention to make it through victoriously.

Worrying about tomorrow today is a serious trap. It will leave you depressed, negative and feeling powerless. When we meditate on the troubles and challenges that might or could or even at times, will happen tomorrow we end up bringing into today unnecessary baggage. Instead, we should use our energy to trust God. We don’t have to worry about today, because our heavenly Father knows what we have need of, so to we can trust Him for our tomorrows because He continues to know what we have need of.

Hear the words of God to you today:

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,  yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? (v. 25-30)

Let faith arise within you today! God can be trusted. He loves us and knows what we have need of. With Him, all things are possible. Seek Him with your whole heart. Place Him first in your life. Celebrate His goodness in your life. Trust in His plans, His timing, His way of working things out. Give yourself wholeheartedly to pursuing the things of God. And, don’t worry about a thing… God has given you grace for today and when tomorrow comes, He will once again give you grace for today. God is still on the throne and His eye is on you!

Your Word for This Day: “And We Win!”

Friday, March 4, 2016

“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

champion

Hundreds of years before Jesus Christ came to earth, the prophet Isaiah foretold His birth. He declared that a Son would be given to mankind and that His name would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Each one of these names is very significant, and today we turn our attention to one name in particular: Jesus is called “Mighty God” or in Hebrew “El Gibbor”.

The definition of this name is: mighty, strong, valiant, champion.

Champion  [cham-pee-uh n]

noun.

  1. a person who has defeated all opponents in a competition or series of competitions, so as to hold first place.

That sounds like our Saviour! On the cross, Jesus Christ defeated His opponent and the enemy of our souls, Satan, and triumphed over every power and work of evil.  After three days in the grave, Jesus rose triumphantly, satisfying God’s judgment on mankind for the act of disobedience in the Garden of Eden. Jesus won the victory for you and for me!

What does this mean for us today? Well, everything! Because of His victory, we have been ransomed, delivered, liberated and given the Way back into intimate fellowship with God. Because of His victory, it was now possible for His Holy Spirit to live inside every person who would believe on Him and confess Him as Lord.

As a child of God, the Spirit of the Champion is within you.

Did you hear what I said (I mean, read what I said)?

The Spirit of the Champion is within you.

Take it in. Meditate on it. Let this truth soak into your soul and cause you to see your God and yourself differently. Stand tall and walk confidently, for with Christ, you cannot lose.

In our lives we will face battles – a believer is also a solider. But, we have a promise of victory. Romans 8:37 tells us that no matter what we face in this life, if God be for us, who could be against us? In “all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”. We are more than conquerors because we have a Champion on the inside!

In His name we triumph and in His name we win!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Your Word for This Day: “The I AM has Sent Me”

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

“God replied to Moses, “I AM who I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”” Exodus 3: 14

exodus_3_14

This was a big job. God was ready to answer the cries of His people and deliver them from slavery in Egypt. When it looked like nothing was happening, God was preparing Moses in the wilderness to go to Pharaoh and say, “Let my people go”.

Upon hearing the assignment, Moses had great concerns. He asked God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?””

Moses wasn’t so sure about God’s plan. He looked at himself, and knowing all of his shortcomings, failures and limitations, he knew that he wasn’t the one for the job.
But, what Moses didn’t understand was this:  It wasn’t really Moses who was about to deliver God’s people… God was about to deliver His people, and He would work through Moses.

God told Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”

The forever existent One – the eternal One – would be the force behind Moses’ movements, the power within him, the wisdom in his mouth. God would use Moses in a mighty way to deliver His people.

As children of God, the Spirit of the “I Am” lives in us.
God is sending us into our world as agents of liberation, and we don’t have to worry if we can do it. God wants to work through us to do great things. All He asks from us is our “yes”, and to trust and obey Him.

As we step out in obedience to Him, just as Moses did, we will see that God makes a way where there seems to be no way (Remember the 10 plagues… the Red Sea… the manna and the quail… I mean, who could do that but God?!).

God wants to work through you today – to love His people, to speak words of life to those who need it, to serve others, to bring healing in broken places. If you say “yes” and make yourself available to Him, He will show forth His power through your life.

Be strengthened today, the great “I AM” lives in you! The I AM has sent you!

Blessings and much love,

Michelle

Your Word for This Day: “Fully Convinced…”

Friday, February 26, 2016

“He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises.” Romans 4:21 NLT

Abraham was chosen.

He was called out of his country, his father’s house and his comfort zone to go to a place that God would show Him. He was given great promises and in his own strength he could never have accomplished the things He did, but for God! He believed and God did great things in His life. As Abraham journeyed with God, he was fully convinced that the Promise-Giver was able to do what He had said.

And just like Abraham, you have been chosen.  You have been called out of darkness into God’s marvellous light and given great promises from the Lord. And He asks for you to believe Him. Trust in His love for you and His ability to fulfill those promises in your life.

Take a moment and reflect on your own amazing story. See how God has brought you through, over, out of, and in to. Hasn’t He been faithful?

Are you fully convinced that He will do what He has said in your life?
God is faithful. You are the evidence.
He will do what He has promised. Be confident in this today!

Blessings and much love.

Have a great weekend!

Your Word for This Day: You got the Power!

Thursday, February 25, 2016

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 ESV

dunamis__acts_1_8_by_symplearts-d659ccz

Oh my, oh my, oh my! Just thinking about Jesus’ statement to His disciples is invigorating. To all those who believe on His name, He has given them power… power to be His witnesses.

Being a witness of Jesus is more than saying “I’m saved”, carrying a Bible everywhere or driving with a sticker on your car that reads “Too Blessed to Be Stressed”.

Being a witness of Jesus is really about living a life that is being transformed by the indwelling presence and power of God and sharing this life with others.

As true witnesses of Jesus, we demonstrate that He is really alive and that His resurrection power is working in us as we are being daily changed into His image.

We learn to triumph over difficulties, love beyond condition and live beyond limitation. We choose to speak words of life and hope to those who need it. We do our best to walk in peace, love and forgiveness when the voices around us scream “have your way at any cost”, “hate your enemies”, and “get revenge on those who hurt you”. We become strong, resilient, humble, joyful, thankful and gracious people who make a difference in the world.

So, whichever part of the world you are currently in, whether Jerusalem, Sydney, Madagascar, New York City or Ecuador… you are empowered to be a witness of Jesus right where you are!  People are drawn to the Jesus that we talk about when they see Him in us.

Walk confidently today knowing that you are empowered to live as a witness of an extraordinary man because you carry the power of an extraordinary God!

Blessings,

Michelle

Your Word for This Day: “A Confident Heart”

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

“My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!” Psalm 57:7 NLT

Woman on the beach with arms raised

Blessings to you on this beautiful day! This is the day that the Lord has made, so let’s rejoice and be glad in it!

As a children of God, we are really blessed! There are so many things to praise the Lord for. He provides for us. He orders our steps and leads us in victory. He defends and protects us. He gives us peace that passes all understanding and overwhelms us with His love. He gives us gifts and opportunities to use them to bless others. He has saved us and raised us up. He has done and does so much!

Even in the difficult times of our lives, He never leaves us or forsakes us. We don’t need to be anxious or afraid. Our hearts can trust in Him for He is a faithful God!

Each day, I am learning that confidence is really a matter of the heart. A heart that is resting in God and trusting in Him, is one that will be confident.

And, a confident heart is a praising heart. We can give God praise in all things because we believe that He is in control and He’s working all things together for our good!

If you are facing a difficult situation today, I encourage you to express your trust in God by praising Him. And as you do, you will see that your confidence in His word and His ability to do what He has promised to you will rise. Confidence and praise work together.

Begin by thanking Him. It may only start out with a whisper… “Lord… I… thank you…”

Yes, your emotions may fight back. They may tell you that this is not making sense or that the pain is too much to bear. But, try it again… “Lord, I praise you…”

And keep going. This praise is one that costs us something and it is one of the deepest praises we offer to God.

My friends, let’s express our trust in God by declaring His praises today! Let praises ring from confident hearts!

Blessings!

Your Word for This Day: “Power Not to Worry”

Friday, August 8, 2014

trust-god

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds                through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

We live in a “just-in-case” society.

We are a “what-will-happen-if?” people.

To some extent, we are guilty of buying something, packing something or doing something “just in case”. While it is important to plan and prepare, we also have to be open to God who wrote the plan for our lives. As children of God, we are to be responsible stewards and take good care of what He has entrusted to us. But, we are not to live lives full of worry.

Believers in Christ do not have to worry.

I know what you’re thinking, this is easier said than done, but the main thing is that it can be done.

Jesus says, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” God is sovereign. He is in your tomorrow, just as He is in your today. Trust Him to lead and to take care of you.

You have the Power not to worry.

And, this Power is unleashed in your life when you choose to trust Jesus with everything concerning you.

Here’s a strategy for today. When you feel the anxious thoughts begin to swirl in your heart: Pray. Praise. Give thanks.  Take your mind over. Tell your soul that you are going to trust God. It’s a choice. You can do it.

Say it loud, and say it proud. “Today, I am going to trust God.”
